@YukkuriOniisan what happens if the baby won't take the breast?, my friend's daughter was born a week ago and she doesn't want to take the breast so she's on formula now
@Hollow7F That's depend on what laypeople referred as "don't want to take breast"
1. The baby can't suck the nipple due to inverted nipple --> Use breastpump to pump the breastmilk out
2. The milk is too few --> During the first weeks of baby life, the milk output is low, because it's high-fat milk called colostrum. Also newborn only could drink several ml/drink. Their stomach will inflate after several weeks.
3. The baby can't want to swallow the milk ---> go get a baby physiotherapist
4. The baby wants to suckle but the mother is impatient --> Let the baby latch as long as they wanted. 5 minutes breastfeeding is not enough.
5. The baby can't latch to the nipple due to improper breast position --> Fix the position
There are many brestfeeding guide over the Internet. Try to find one in your language.
