@Darkmeep unfortunally there is a reason for that.. The less of the species there are the more valuable it becomes. It gives you more money and you dont have to invest that much in it. What most hunters prefer.

The value will even skyrocket if the entire species went extinct.

@Darkmeep I agree it's stupid though for different reasons than you. Also it's used in too many things. Anyway they don't raise them because they are sentient and smart, they can speak, are physically strong, have strong magical abilities and they would probably rather die before being taken captive like that/that's the only way to get them to submit/give up fighting. They have bad a rep because other than the fact that they toe the line between beast and human they are well-known as like (I can't remember if it was mercenary types or what) mercenaries/for often dealing with bloody/dark things and people are scared of them and look down on them.

not an isekai but i seriously think Konrad Altera from The Monster Duchess and Contract Princess is the best ML i've seen so far. i just wanna hand the Best Boy Award to him. the manhwa itself is also currently my #1 favorite

then Joseph from Actually, I Was the Real One is also a good ML. but the thing is, it's not confirmed yet that he's the ML. it could be the mysterious guy who hasn't made his appearance yet.
