The Soulless Duchess - Vol. 2 Ch. 53

Can anyone tell me why holy sword rejects Claude? Spoil if you need please :)

Man, I can't wait for the author to touch upon why the holy sword rejects Claude now even though we suspect it's because of the tower in the old ruins that Ivona gained an increase in raw power from. But also, GOOD JOB CLAUDE FOR DEFENDING YOUR WIFE!!!

I mean he could've been a bit calmer to reason with the priest in a way he couldn't deny that Claude did what he could to save the people/children of God(the people who support the temple) while the temple prepped the new statues, it's also his responsibility as the Duke of the Northern territory to protect the citizens there so idk where this priest was going with his own reasonings. But he just so focused on the idea that Ivona was a crazy evil witch and pissed Claude off soooo it's the priest fault lmaoooo. I was ready to punt the lil sh*t back to the main temple after the bullsh*t he spouted. Lord Lucius(Ludkis? I can't remember the phoenix's name) would agree and help me. 😂

Feels like the duke is a mafia kingpin who is just the sweetest of husband at home.

The way he positioned himself in front of a window when he gives his "preach of the Lord" is a nice touch of the Artist, it gives a more in-depth understanding how the holy-people see themselves. And how Claude's body covers his ripped glove is a nice detail also.

Claude is good hubby. Doesn't let no one talk shit about his wife.

That guy sure did a lot of accusing and pontificating without answering any actual questions.

I was kinda hoping for this to be a convenient out where he goes "Well, if you're so unhappy with my actions as the Holy Sword wielder, you can take it."
He loses a lot of political sway, probably, but he'll also have a good excuse for no longer using the sword in public, and it's the church left holding the bag because the public understanding is gonna be, "the Agentine house made a cure and the church responded by confiscating the Holy Sword."

"Life and death are in the hands of God. Only the servants of God who obey God's will and who God has allowed to may interfere."
10 seconds later:
"So it's God's will for people to suffer and die in the meantime?" - "What...! How can the owner of the holy sword say something like that?! Shame on you!"

Dude, that's exactly what you said before.

Come Birdy, we have a few churches to burn down.
