The Story of a Yakuza Boss Reborn as a Little Girl - Vol. 1 Ch. 10

I've not played Mahjong so idk how ron is called so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ apologies if i used the wrong verb lol

Lol mahjong is hard but not impossible for kids to learn, I played mahjong a little as a kid too. Lol

Yukari is gonna end up with a little girl Yakuza group soon enough

@zephyroths Dominoes and Mahjong are good outdoors since tiles can't blow away. Both were popular for camping. We didn't play much Mahjong but I did learn a little more than the basics at around 8 or 9. Dominoes was more fun imo and games were shorter

Mahjong is one of the games that despite having read some Mangas featuring it, I still have no idea how it is played at all.

To be fair, I don’t even know how to play chess properly.

Kindergarden kids plays mahjong and here i’m never tried to learn bcs there’re so many rules just like card games.

Several hours...that means they are really into that game and they are way past their bed time at what their parents would consider a stranger's house.

@illusion_moon I've only ever played like once or twice, but near as I can figure it has a family resemblance to games like Rummy, only with a bigger more complicated deck and so more possibilities for combos. You have like a "hand" of tiles, you have the "deck" there to draw from, and you're trying to get groups of tiles that go together, and I think, like Gin Rummy, you can grab other people's discards to make them curse as you complete your set with what they inadvertently gave you. So the base concept is not as intimidating as it looks with all those tiles standing in rows, although the devil's in the details.

Mahjong also has several variations on the rules, mostly to do with scoring and betting. The Chinese (or Shanghai) rules are significantly simpler than the Riichi (Japanese) rules. Shanghai has you counting what’s in your hand and occasionally drawing flower tiles that do nothing but give you bonus points. Riichi has some minor betting, hand construction, and a few extra rules on when you win a hand.

And yes, Mahjong is pretty similar to rummy; your goal is to draw a tile every turn and then discard one; when you do, other players can take the tile and put it in their hand. Your goal is to build a hand that consists of nothing but 3 of a kinds, Runs of 3, and a single pair. A “Ron” is what you call when you want to take someone’s discard

it took me two weeks to understand the game well enough to play and the girls learn it in under a day...

How bad are you at mahjong Kunimitsu? Getting double ron'd by two beginner
