He has no chance though, he might be denying that fact. A girl as straightforward as her won't give up easily and the ml probably likes her anyways. The ml will probably end up thinking he is gay or something for liking "him"(the heroine).
It is too late for the other guy, she fell in love and so he lost his chances there. She would need to get rejected first to see how she reacts and how she acts, but I don't see the guy having a chance. He might get out of hand though and that wouldn't be good at all.
