Wonder why the mother is so intent on MC going to a military school instead of a sorcery one? Granted he doesn't have any compatibility but then neither did his 'ancestor' the Emperor of Thunder. Agree with MC that it seems odd the father would make his mother a concubine despite her having zero compatibility, and allow them to be sent to the boonies and looked down on by the wife and other concubines along with never visiting his son. Guess will just have to keep reading to find out as the father seems to be the stereotypical scum noble with hubris and little concern or regard for those consider beneath him or useless. Then again, maybe part of his problem is either ignorant or glossing over fact that the family's progenitor had zero compatibility too.
