The Unsuccessful yet Academically Unparalleled Sage ~A Cheating S-Rank Sorcerer's Post-Rebirth Adventurer Log~ - Vol. 2 Ch. 5.7

@GridLite
Because it's one of those things that is so obvious you can forget to even check it.
It's like trying to figure out why a TV won't turn on only to figure out it wasn't even plugged in. It slips your mind precisely because it's the basics of the basics and you assume it can't be the problem because no one wouldn't plug it in first.

@Trov well what you said makes sense but there's too many holes in the argument. knowledge can easily be forgotten but not experience. It's like when you're a vet runner and you're watching someone runs at full speed and other non-runners were amazed but not you because the runner's running form is a mess.

A strong monster! Distract it, fire! And then... Huh its over? - is what this manga summarized off

@GridLite Imagine if you learnt like College level subjects in pre-school and when you re-incarnate, everyone is learning how to do 1+1 in the new pre-school.

That's how the MC is. He was the Emperor of Thunder but afaik, he was only on par with his other Emperors if he did not have restraints while the others could readily control their maximum power. Adding to the fact that he depaired at the end of his life thinking he had no proper affinity with any magics made him believe he never really "mastered" his craft.

Soo... someone who attempts felony and is a total ass is sure to turn himself in and let that girl free? And the girl is definitely not gonna be targeted again?

girl from Cover.. finally
@bakauguu well, hes adventurer, there must be some rules for them. and because there are witnesses and victims, he have not much choices. he must do as he is told, or kill them all.

I really doubt the guy will let the slave go like that... even with witnesses... but given it's the last day, it should be, as I don't see this manga dark enough for what would happen if MC has to save her later...

@raiden55 Indeed, the MC is really too naive. He really thinks the guy is going to turn himself in ? And release his slave, just because he said so ? If the MC had stayed until the guy turned himself in, sure, the guy wouldn't have dared disobey. But now that the MC is gone, you can be sure that A-rank adventurer will leave the place, and keep his slave.

Of course.

Let's add "lets free the cute but somehow not-too-badly-abused slave girl" to the checklist of tropes here.

You know what? rather than dissing about MC choice, I'd prefer compliment the artist for trying hard to drawing antagonist face. 🤣

I know, the conclusion are a bit boomer. but man, at first I thought that man gonna be either squashed or eaten alive. then again, what a face he have. 🤣

Oh! oh no! My cover has been blown even though I’m super knowledgeable and have lived in this time period for 15 years, I don’t know what is normal even though every darn peasant is some remote town knows all about it.
Look at that poor slave girl so conveniently right next to me with random stuck up bastard who is really weak even though everyone thinks he’s super strong, probably is strong because random villagers know him. Of course slave is a virgin and our hero just steps to save her as an after though so she will be the one who’s madly fallen for him and he’s not some 100 old creep.
And of course letting a bunch of villagers die is debatable because his secret is so damn important, the secret that every one and their donkey will know by the end of the first day of school because you know, even though I’m a grand master I can’t control the power of my darn spells.
I’ll be honest, it’s nice that you get an idea of what the story is roughly about, but when the whole thing is some string of tropes.... just something to make it a bit unique wouldn’t hurt... or would it? Do people really want a super predictable story line?

ok this has gotten to brand new lows I didn't imagine were possible...

@Kyujyu
You're right, of course. I thought I was going into this with low expectations, but it seems even then, I was still naive.
