The series is following the game main characters so of course Oscar goes first but Gilbert is always there for Cecilia.

Only issue is Cecilia is too dumb/naive/trusting/well intentioned for her own good and that ends attracting trouble to herself despite Gil warns her about it

And honestly? I think the author did a great job depicting both of the MLs, Im ok with Gilbert. Depends on how much i will be emotionally like Oscar, 'll probably stop reading once my not preferred ship sails. But before then ima still be around lol.
