Everyone, you have to realize that mc's in isekis tend to be a bit more genre aware, and this is important because in shoujo the concept of fate, as concept I despise, is usually a major plot point.
This mc more or less watched as fate went to the female mc of the first game, and had she not overstepped her place and not gone for main target 2, she would have had a more or less happily ever after, granted not the game happy end, but a happy end.

so keep that in mind when you look at mc's actions, she is genre aware and worried because of it.

It would appear that she may be beloved by the fairies of the forest even more so than the game's Canon MC.

@Nicolausx09 which makes sense given her feelings of inevitability—she feels depressed and powerless. That said, it isn't specified why she lacks any strength. Traumatic past? Cultural conditioning? What's her cause for pacivity (beyond the wims of the writer)?

@TheDragonLord it’s truly frustrating to see her go on circles about feeling helpless because she won’t step out of her ‘box’ of being the game’s villainess.

which is a waste of potential considering she is supposed to be kinda powerful too based on the spoilers where it’s said that she gained the favor of the land and air fairies. That sounds dope right!?!?

Worse is how her whole character largely relies on her significant other. That’s just how the author made her to be. The reincarnation part is kinda irrelevant cuz we never see her actually use her earthly knowledge outside of the original game premise.

"trapped narrative" mentality and "mob" mentality r common for these isekai writers. I swear they don't know how to write a MC with a bit of wisdom or a MC that realises they are not in japan anymore.

it will never change as i suspect the audience likes it that way, trapped narrative makes it feel more dreamy novel-y fantasy-ish, and adhering to japanese social norms keeps them "relatable" to the kind of japanese readers that would read isekais in the first place.

I've seen R18-doujin with better writing that mock isekai tropes.

Yes, according to the sequel game, Aqua is supposed to be engaged with someone from Marineforest but this someone now happen to also be an isekai-ed person, and she refused to be engaged because she wants tour all the important spots in the game

@Nicolausx09 @deltarayedge interestingly, I have read a few comics where the trope has changed into meaningful character development. One involves the MC getting dumped by the ML to make her go after the secret ML/Big-Bad. Things work out, but the MC doesn't necessarily depend upon the true ML entirely. They form a bond. I've seen others that likewise follow suit, but in general, it is a less used trope and far less in the strictly Japanese genre.

The times where you see a "strong" protagonist, unfortunately, is seemingly in the male alternative to this. I've seen the unusual outlier, but it seems like the FMCs are programmed often to be weak. In instances where they aren't, typically, they are avoiding death flags. Not always, though. My favorites in the genre have extremely strong female leads. They'll depend on a ML at times, but it wouldn't necessarily matter about the gender, but rather simply not being a deity and having to work together with others to accomplish stuff.
