Here I was, preoccupied with how in the actual hell most of a world would have given up on magic just because it was hard and required human sacrifices (there's gotta be at least one large cabal of people out there still using it, I mean come on), but then I check the comment section and people are joking about how good she must've been with her tongue. I really dropped the ball glossing over such a good cause for dirty jokes.

Why is she the one getting a magical re-do? If you do a bunch of bad things and then at the end get betrayed by your villainous partner most people would call that getting your just deserts lol

I bet there are a bunch of people that aren't treacherous mass murders that would love a magical rebirth

Anyway this would have made a really good story, if she agreed to help him there. Overcome extreme handicaps, deal with past mistakes, and make the best of salvaging that horrific mess of an empire. I wanna read that! A darker story with no perfect solutions, but still manage to prevent the worst outcomes.

I agree with other commentors that you could make a great story out of her actually joining this rebellion, but it would be rather difficult to write a main character with no limbs or tongue.
