I think it depends on the story setting and type of patriarchy or matriarchy they take. I do come across of manhwa where the woman is queen and doesn't depend on the man. I'll make recommendation in manga forum if you're interested.

I'm sure Artezia is aware of the Emperor's servants. Maybe it's a calculated risk because she already gave out favors to them plus she made Countess Eunis aware of them. Maybe she is trying to make a connection to Eunis and have her as a resource in the future?

Anyway I now know why her brother killed Eunis' son, that boy had emperor's blood in his veins and if that was the last piece to his total supremacy then I also understand why that bastard all but killed Artezia after. I mean the author said it earlier but I had still thought she could have served him more as she was that loyal to him. Nope. Nasty bastard, literally.

Her mother would see it as her daughter running interference to keep Eunis from interrupting her time with the king; the king would see it as Artezia keeping his daughter from making a mistake. She doesn't come out looking bad or like she's taking sides here at all.
