for the money thing, it goes into more depth in the novel but she's basically trying to protect herself by earning her own money that's not connected to Count Roscente just in case things go awry.

as for her sudden aging up:

from what i understood in the novel, it seems like the hourglass is aging her slightly with every use (either by itself or stacking the time reversed onto her), which is why she had the sudden growth spurt a few chapters back and now she's 14/15 looking 20. looking old enough for her fake ID to work was an added bonus. she realizes this after using the hourglass so much at the casino and resolves to rely on it less just in case.

.....so yeah she's aging real quick huh?....Isn't she like 14.....she looks 21 now. .....and uh isn't she Mielle's YOUNGER step-sister... I mean in the begining didn't she say Mielle outgrew the Oscar birthday gift dress but she could still fit it normally? Her fam isn't like....uh aren't you growing a little too fast?

But knowing romance novel logic, she'll stop rapidly aging (or at least looking it) now that she looks fully developed (would be interesting if she kept aging though) moves the romance forward without compressing the timeline, maybe cause it would look weird that a grown woman (lady Isis) is fighting over same guy as a girl who looks 14.
