The Villainess Turns the Hourglass - Vol. 2 Ch. 49

Oh how the tables have turned! Thank you fit the update, I can't wait to see how Mielle messes this one up! 🤣

I know so many things from the novel (Because I couldn't wait :( ) I just laugh at them :d
Thank you so much for the translation <3

@1ORIN
Iris should have known better too. And she's nowhere as naive as Mielle. She knows Mielle is weak, easy to manipulate and has never had anyone killed.
She did hand this over to an amateur "mastermind" who might (and did) assign it to an amateur killer.

@MapleTreeWithAGun
Still, she never killed anyone and would likely be nervous at this idea. Let alone trying to kill the daughter of the family she serves. Let alone one who severely traumatized her.
So, she's not only an amateur, but also probably the most unqualified around. Her only "qualification" is that she serves tea to the target... which also makes her the most likely suspect should she succeed. And she's originally the target's sister's servant... So that makes the mastermind super-obvious. This is stupidity piling up on top of stupidity.

Oh to chase after you in the pale moonlight after catching a glimpse of your coat from the side of the ballroom, then following you out into a beautiful garden, turning my head to look for you, only to be bundled in your coat from behind and you smiling at me and i stare and ask what brings you here and you respond that you couldn't keep away from me and we kiss in the garden but a chilly wind blows and you tell me to head back inside, disappearing into the shadows while leaving me your warm coat but the warmth my cheeks are hotter. I pine for this.

Well, in fact in the novel
We learn Isis think quite high of Mielle.

Later, in the story Mielle have problem and call Isis but she refuse to help. So Mielle threaten to reveal the leter Isis send her, there is some "order" in it and Isis can't let that slide so she help Mielle and escape with her to the neighbour kingdom. Mielle will easily fall in love with the prince (and completely forget Oscar) and that the moment Isis realise Mielle incompetence. From the begining, Isis only see Mielle when there are gathering. But later they will travel together and realise the truth.

That mean, before that, she thinking Mielle was wise.
That why Isis let Mielle take care of Aria without much though.

@1ORIN
@Wyrm well Mielle is an actual teenager who knows nothing of the world. It's no wonder her plans are so sloppy.
A teenager who invite business women to tell her they must quit their jobs and take care of their family instead lmao

@Kingdo
Seems to make a little more sense in the novel based on your spoiler block there.

This manga doesn't portray it too well... Or the manga author made a conscious choice of making Mielle appear more incompetent, to the reader at least.
The problem with this "artistic license" is that it introduces inconsistencies regarding characters, relations between them and their growth or reveals.

lmaoooo so they weren't even engaged yet??? Wow she's gotten very cocky huh~ Talking to him like that when there's a decline in power for the nobles

so he’s using the casino situation against her lol ok hope it works out, that family sounds so cursed, im curious about how the original timeline played off with the interactions between that family and the imperial family, it very much feels like he originally was being threaten to get engaged to isis and/or his life was in their hands??? could be bluff or arrogance tho,,, but Aria’s involvement definitely helped the crown prince position, if i remember correctly, the casino situation would’ve backfired on him, no? or he wasn’t able to get as much benefits from it if it wasn’t for Aria,, and now he’s using it to deal with the cursed family,,, alright kept it up crown prince, you gotta be good for our girl lol still low key mad about pursuing the wrong sister

I actually feel bad for the anatagonist side cause they suck 😃

some of them are immature and too cocky

others are definitely not good at being bad like that maid

as long they keep on being bad at doing bad things and not use extreme violence on the FL

I think FL is literally going to deal with flies that are annoying

the antagonists are somehow predictable

wait I am confused... so are Aria and Asher's feelings mutual now? I mean did they confessed they liked each other already? cuz this chapter makes it seem like they're together but not yet together together. Previous chapters made it seemed like Aria wasn't sure if she liked Asher romantically and if he liked her back or just liked her as a smart person.. unless I totally missed something... can someone enlighten me?

Lol they gotta be better villains to stand toe to toe with our girl.

I'm looking forward to her teacher totally flooring Mielle in the future but for now, I'm gonna enjoy seeing what happens to the maid/s in the next chapter.
