I mean, those would probably work great against undead and other evil-type monsters, but I don't see how they'd help with over-penetration.

why not carry the wyvern corpses and sell them? even if they need to hire other adventurers to do the carry it would be a heavy profit hundreds times the money from the mandrakes.
