Not dense MC realizes the FMC feeling towards him, but he can't return them knowing full well of his position.
This isn't a fairy tale(although it was indeed a game world), we can't have a noble lady marrying a butler regardless how loyal he is. Unless the MC earned a noble title by becoming a knight or by buying the title as a merchant there is almost no chance for a commoner to be a noble. That said he is also a secret character in the game, I bet he turns out to be a prince from another country.
