@bebebop, I was thinking about that too. Like, she never actually did anything significantly negative to him, at least not in this timeline where FL takes over? IIRC, the worst thing the original Ran did was just being bratty spoiled arrogant disrespectful towards him, no violence no betrayal barely anything substantial, they probably didn't even spend that much time together before 1st chp. What were the "humiliation, anger, pain and resentment" such deep and strong word choices for him to have against kid FL, to even have considered killing her as an option despite that not being the preferred option... Hopefully future chapters expand the story more on those past suffering parts to reinforce his perspectives, or maybe there could be suspicions/rumors/manipulations/etc done by other characters that led him to believe FL was the villainess and the cause of his sufferings.

Because from what I have seen nothing, the father and Stepmother looked to be the ones pushing Yustaf down and abusing him.

From what I have seen, the original daughter was killed by him(Of course from an accidental fall in the real story) and Yustaf sneaks out with the Og sister but comes back by himself as shown in this chapter.... why?
Did he just leave Ran by herself to die?

Looks more so that this hate is irrationally place on Ran just because the father and mother dote on her.
We see her talk to him but there are no insults coming from her, just curiosity(OG)

And it in the first chapter she basically hints to wanting his affection.... It really just makes him look like a dick.

Until I see some abuse or lies from the Og, she is an innocent girl.

I think that statement could have been translated better: another way to have translated/interpreted 'Killing her was never the preferred option' was 'the option of killing her was never a priority/consideration". ((do we have another korean speaker to double check?)

This makes more sense because he was mostly indifferent to Ran for the most part. He was resentful that his father re-married, and this didn't like Ran or her mother very much, and especially not after he was beaten after he left Ran alone where she got lost.

Currrently, he's just intrigued and doesn't know how much he can trust her. This non-blood "sister" who he doesn't really talk to, suddenly says she's on his side. He knows everyone is out to steal the dukedom from him, and why is she any different? He's still suspicious of her, especially after she shows how capable she is in running the dukedom and how she got the ring spirit to accept her. After he learns she's scared of him, you can think of it like this: She's scared that he'll kill her... but he has no reason to. Why would he?? She promised to help him, but also she's afraid of him... why?? These words actually bother him a lot and they'll revisit this around chapter 20 again. (the anticipation! )
