That isn't a typo. Fog doesn't need an article. You can use one, but it's entirely up to you. Grammarly, when set to apply all grammar rules, did not complain. If you search "fog definition" in Google, the example sentence given is "the collision occurred in thick fog".

I imagine that's what kids in warzone did all the time. The fact that it's 2020 and we still have physical wars among ourselves really made me feel like we deserves to be smashed to smithereens by a meteor
