I'm assuming all three children have the same mother. That's why he only felt sympathy for the third child who killed the mother (in childbirth) just like him.

It looks like the naming of the children seem to be based on who the children take after look wise. So only one of the children looked like the mother and that's why he has her name.

Well if you read properly on the first chapter, it kinda did mention that the queen wasn’t available anymore (died). Their family is extreme so it wasn’t that surprising that it didn’t really affect them. Maybe the late queen wasn’t very affectionate herself.
