I mean, clearly exaggerated, but they’ve been working up to this since chapter one, and tbh there’s a tendency (problematic, really) of queer culture in general to be really forward and horny. Any time I’ve been in a specifically queer space I’ve found it awkward af.

I met my wife on Twitter at 36, ffs. I’d only dated three people before, and I don’t really count the guy (that... didn’t work). I just can’t get with how in your face it can be.
