Oh the memories! We had the anime version of this on TV in France in the late eighties. I am fairly sure there is an official french translation. The anime was good fun but I can't imagine reading it.

This was sort of decent, but the author must've repeated every single joke a couple of dozen times. The staleness was reaching absurd levels.
