I just hope the fiance knows that Roel was a woman? If not, I could understand the shock, I wouldn't want a man-soul x woman-body fiancée either.
Other than that, great cliffhanger. I have absolutely no clue how she was set up, at which point, by whom, for what purpose, or how that head priest could possibly know.
I feel like Julius's reaction has less to do with Sila being a "man" and more about Roel being alive. We don't have much information about how Roel's death impacted imperial politics, so maybe Julius knows something and something is about to go awry now that he knows she isn't dead.
Okay, people in universe, I understand not knowing she disguised her gender
The people in the comments section, are you serious? It was in the very first chapter. And iirc a couple more when she described her love life. And the summary.
And yeah I concur, he's probably not shocked about the gender thing so much as the whole "Roel the holy knight who kind of represents an opposing power that we may have set up for death is my fiance" thing. This is a shoujo, and if you think something like gender is a major roadblock for shoujo romance, you need to experience more kinds of stories than your usual shounen-seinen affair
@Ceiye Wasn't it more that she just got sick of correcting people that didn't realize? I don't think it was consciously decided to disguise as a male. But it has been a while, and the older chapters won't load on here right now to check so I can't be arsed to look somewhere else to make sure.
Okay, so are they referring to her as "Sir Roel" because that's what she was called to the public or is it the fact that they don't actually know she was a woman in her original body as well?? Yes, yes. It's been stated that so she had to pretend to be a man. It just seems a little funny.
Edit: I also think that the Captain was unintentionally apart of the set-up that got her "killed" so that's why he's shocked, maybe?
