So each hero has been 'eaten'... Perhaps the truth about the heroes is that they all decided to join the demon king because they all despise this world that would kill their lover over and over again. They disapear a year after the defeat of the shadow demon king, which is enough time for the angel to get murdered by the populace and then the heroes party conveniently dissapear. Yea im sure this crazy demon lord is pissed and wants to get strong enough to destroy the world or the goddess or something.

@Ironclad Exactly, thats straight to the point. So often we have these stories that start out subversive but like you said not only is it doing the same tropes it lead out to defy, its worse since they gave her agency then took it all away. Times like this I wonder if sales and an editor made the mangaka go in a different direction, since the first part and second part are so different. SIgh

@kuroageha Yes I don't get why people misinterpret this. The previous heros most probably got captured by the demon king Marcus. They were filled with hatred and guilt when their lovers (Jun reincarnation ) died tragically. Hence easily got tempted and captured by the demon king since they are the vassal, the demon king would gain power by capturing them. I think this was hinted when Louise meet the holy girls ( Jun's friends ) when they asked Louise to free the innocent souls that are suffering. This is just my theory not a spoiler.

As much as I'd like this manga to go on for another 60 or so chapters, I can see that this is as much as the author wanted to go with this story and is actually ending it properly without dragging it along with filler arcs.

so she's totally ok with the godess and the church just like that? she just learned that she has been raped and murdered several times throughout many lives and both the goddess and the church knew who you were and did absolutely nothing to protect or even help you. only when the world is about to be destroyed do they claim to care and want to help but not because they care about you but because they need to use you to save the world... seriously demon lord i stand with you destroy this garbage world.

But I'm glad you said that, I was a bit conflicted because graham and all the other heros seemed to have loved her, but you are right - first hero was the only one to truly love her out of free will.

Yup, team demon king, as others pointed out he eas the first to love her for her, not some sort of weird magnetic bullshit. I'm also disappointed the goddess will stick her fingers in their affairs to make their loves miserable for the greater good, but not to help. Like she manipulated the heroes and Jun to each other but never seemed to help her as directly as she moved her around if that makes sense? Only when it's crunch time does she actually help her and it feels... idk I'm unsatisfied with her motives, but maybe it's a bkue and orange morality sorta thing, mortals don't see the bigger picture. But another excellent flash of darkness from Graham, I'm so intrigued! Clearly something is up with him and he is hiding something and I just cannot wait to find out.
