This Villainess Wants a Divorce! - Vol. 1 Ch. 9

Her dress is so beautifull this chapter.
Grace's is good too but I liked the MC dress better. Maybe because it is not some pink as most are.

You know it's too late to leave canaria =_= you're needed for plot development now that cesar has fallen for you

Omg, the original heroine of the novel sounds awesome? What heroine has such a poisonous tongue X'DD?
(except maybe for those op ruthless genius kind of heroines from cnovels X'DD)

Gracy sounds like a sassy AF heroine. I can dig it.

Now then, will you take the hint and adapt, or go the way of the Bakarina? Your move, Canaria.

Every time those dense MCs don't realize that the guy is interested on them and every time I love it!! Seriously it's such an lovely trope. Thanks so much for translating this!

Oh, snap, plot twist - WHERE IS YOUR OMNIPOTENCE NOW, CANARIA??!! *ojou-sma laugh*

What strikes me as interesting (and a bit meta) is that the MC described Canaria as a selfish idiot in the book, someone Cesar could never bond with. Here, meeting Gracy, we're not given any reason to believe she's the sort of kind, pure girl who could "heal the Prince's broken heart" *bleargh* but more of a savvy operator who will fight for what she wants with the weapons available. A much more suitable ally for future king. I loike it a lot.

Also, the whole, "You're going to live and come back because I'm not going to no freaking conventmonastery" is less inspirational than, "Spartan! With your shield, or on it," but I'll take it.

Here’s something fun to think about when Asian authored stories with historical settings.

Royal colors in middle age kingdoms

In China the royal color was Yellow / Gold

In Korea the royal color was Blue

Oh, so we're going the "The heroine is actually a huge bitch! Surprise!!" route, huh? I've never liked those, they always feel kind of boring or forced to me.

"As soon as the prince got the power to do so, he had his wife executed so he could marry another woman" really doesn't sound heroic. Historically accurate, sure, but not heroic.

Gracie is actually a really great character, and probably Canaria only real Female Friend.

So the entire problem is that Canaria believes that the critical points of the novel are set points. She still views everyone as "characters" and not people:

1. Cesar and Gracie will fall in love
2. Cesar will come back victorious and divorce her

Is it time for her to start worrying if Cesar will come back alive?

@keansor it's less that the heroine is a huge bitch, it's more that the novel either a) wasn't complete, or b) didn't go to in depth with the heroines other interactions since she's the heroine. Also, you have to remember, Cana basically stole this woman's husband, who, if married to her, would've likely become the emperor, making her the empress. She has a bit of a right to be bitchy to the person who ruined her ticket up.

God these isekai just go through the same loops. Imagine if those 5 years from the ages of 12 to 17 weren't just straight skipped, maybe the author would have second-guessed something as idiotic as the princess being so oblivious as to believe the prince would leave his highly-supportive, though arranged, wife for some literal-who duke's daughter. It's such lazy writing and so hamfisted in execution that I want to actually gag.
