@Spookie Because people want to believe she is stupid for still believing in hypothetical situations which are still very real and possible for her. People are like this in real life, fearing things which may not even be real (ghosts are a common example).

As long as Evgenia (Cesar's mother I believe) has reason to be suspicious and put her to death, she has reason to be worried. People still don't understand that and think Canaria should break the status quo and make herself super stupidly noticeable.
