Looking back at this chapter made me realize something, when dahlia’s mother said “ she’s the daughter of that woman, so no doubt she wouldn’t be interested in nobility or being adored by that man” made me think that the mistress never loved that man, if in this story both daughters resemble their mothers in everything means that that fathers of theirs forced the mistress to sleep with him and be his mistress, the dad is scum through and through especially since he planned to groom his younger daughter and sleep with her , I’m really sad for both daughters and mothers
