To Love-Ru Darkness - Vol. 18 Ch. 77 - Let’s meet again sometime ~I’m looking forward to our future~

@Ani-Matic It's also incredible how this series kept running for this long. And also how we readers managed to read till' the end just to be denied. Honestly, it's kinda amazing really.

@krowley I know you may not want to hear this lol, but apparently the author's gonna come back to this story at some point in a new series. I wonder if there will be, like, any character development or resolution if he does. Probably not :/

@Ani-Matic ya thats old. other than the other chapters he wants to do a magical girl and ofc darling in the franxx. sadly Darkness ends here. Kind of a sad ending. oh well.

This shitty series will continue because of the same reasons as you can see in: https://mangadex.org/title/22151/kanojo-okarishimasu

Answer: For people who want to rage nonstop.

I just came here to check how the story ended because I wasted few days catching up with the anime.
While trying to go along for a while for the sake of "enjoying" abundant fanservice I ended up hating most of the time I wasted watching it.
Turns out the manga doesn't get any better.

Fucking Rito deserves to go down as the most pathetic, spineless, coward and indecisive harem protagonist of all times and the reasons he's so broadly loved by that legion of hotties are embarrassingly weak and contrived.

Well, it ended as well as expected. And not just because I heard that it has an inconclusive ending. I'm actually fine with that ending and when it comes down to it, it was either that or Rito picking Haruna. I can't really see any other conclusion.

Which brings me to the two biggest problems of Darkness: The harem plan and Momo. The harem plan, which was doomed to fail from the start, since it's just not something that fits to Rito, should have been an arc of barely even ten chapters. Instead, it encompassed the entirety of Darkness, not always overt, but at least in the background, and it's its beginning and the end. This also causes Momo to become more and more unsympathetic as it went on, as it became clearer that the whole plan was just rooted in her being utterly selfish. But since the harem plan went over the entire series, her issues went mostly unaddressed until the end, where she doesn't even get better and just goes on like before.

So yeah, thanks to Darkness, Momo has turned from a likeable character to an utterly awful bitch. And the excessive "screentime" she gets over other, better characters, severely hurt Darkness. It's largely due to that that it's worse than the first series. Mea and Nemesis were pretty good, though.

If Nana and Mea are just there hanging out and (maybe) being gay with each other, I'd be happy with that.
