The author must be so shut in he feels his way was super unique and no one would think to do it. This author is literally all of us in elementery school drawing that "Super Cool S" with the sharp tips using six lines. No one else can reach my peak S drawing skills and only very few of us know the secret to draw it. Then we grew up and discovered we all did it and our Pogs with custom slammers are worth nothing in the open market.
In real life you can see archers with their gear on their way to training or on their way back, if you live in countries where citizens cannot access to guns, using your training bow + non lethal arrows is handy.
@mangadexcommentban - must be country-specific. I don't see any archers around where I live. Even children playing with bows are super-rare.
Still, Japan seems to have archery classes and clubs in school, which is cool. MC might have went to one of them.
@korra_lover - some people are unreasonably competitive. I've had a damage-dealer quit the party because he was doing most of the damage. I mean, that's what damage-dealers are for, right? Even if the other damage-dealers weren't as good.
And yes, I've seen people complain that people go to a war PvP zone with bows. I'm not sure what was the problem, they probably wanted more players to deploy ballistas.
Best to clarify the mood of the party from the start, to avoid any drama. Especially when you know your build isn't the current meta. Laid-back groups and guilds are nice.
