Can't use a longbow because it takes a while to draw and gets in the way of kicking, but then he makes that cumbersome X monstrosity. Author should have just went with "because it's cool" instead of trying to justify not using a longbow

The bow design is fine, its a game, you dont need to be pratical. Same goes for human sized swords which people think its fine. Or weird shaped swords in general.
