Suspect that'll be Francis.
The gal that his friends all think he should be involved with.
Given his background, he's actually turned out quite well as a person.
He's well aware of what the world is like for those who aren't at the top.
He knows that he has to keep a low profile, making enough to get by, but not enough to become a target.
He avoids causing harm to others to the extent that he can; that's one of the reasons for avoiding big winnings, people who gamble can accept small losses, that's the reality of gambling, after all, but large losses, they can't afford, and will take action against those who cause them.
Still, although he'd deny it, he has compassion for others.
That's why he didn't just ditch Lyla.
Even though she's clearly going to be an economic burden to him.
And, that's why he's going to help Francis out, now that she's come seeking his aid.
