Oof, it would've take quite a while for her head to melt this time. A trip to the sun isn't like going to borrow sugar from your neighbor, so if she wasn't able to melt sometime pretty soon after launch and had to wait to reach the sun's warmth...Well, I know a launch to Mars can take like 100 days to a year or so in transit. Sun ain't really any closer. So long, summer vacation.

Fun Fact:
At Earth's orbit, it takes more energy to fall into the sun than it does to escape it and go to another star. The easiest way to reach the sun is to travel to an outer orbit and slow down there and then fall inward.
