I don't think the author thought this through. If Takemichi time leapt doesn't that mean that Hina dated the old him for 12 years only for that guy to disappear after his future self returned?
As far as we know the old him was naive and lacked backbone and she stayed with him for 12 years waiting for the badass version to come back?
Either way it's kinda fucked up.
