Tomb Raider King - Ch. 15

Yeah no XD Vegas is not so kind.

The casinos would not give a damn how you're cheating.

Well, okay. They would to some extent, for the sake of future prevention. And sometimes people get really damn clever. There was a great story about some Russians who figured out some insufficiently-random random-number-generator code in one set of them, and engineered backwards to be able to play the odds just enough to make a killing off gas-station slots in various places, or something like that... but that wouldn't have worked in a casino, because:

They understand probability, and they know what their odds are. They'd know he's cheating, as a simple factual matter. He would have been asked to leave way sooner into his win streak. (And then probably blacklisted from all the casinos in Vegas, I suspect XD)

@TehSDragon: Oh yeah, no, this was totally expected. This was not so much heartfelt criticism as myself being far too amused.

Upon reflection, perhaps mostly because we have such an "look, look, isn't he so hardcore!"-style protagonist against the backdrop of such a preciously juvenile concept of what "winning big" at a casino would look like. In the author's defense, I think Korea has no casinos, and so also maybe "The House always wins" isn't something ingrained into folks by their peers.

@Pokari They do have casinos, but Koreans are basically not allowed to gamble, so... yeah, pretty much the same thing. I think there's like only 1 legal casino in Korea? Something like that. 5 minutes of Googling isn't really in-depth research, but that's what I got.
