I get it this is chinese, when main characters can behave more evil than the villains, but usually when you try to torture, torment them, they can make a comeback and bring a bigger disaster.

Why not enslave her? He just lost a powerful relic, granted it's not vital but more assets are always good and surely there was a way to control her, he already showed he was worse than her to the point of breaking her belligerent character so subduing her was an option
