Tomo-chan wa Onna no ko! - Vol. 4 Ch. 388 - It's Not Just You Two Either

@simplicity @Gadac
Apparently, in Japanese dodgeball there is an outfield that players move to when they are hit in the infield, if the ball leaves the infield the outfielders can try to hit an infielder. If they are successful they can move back to the infield. The first team to run out of infielders loses, probably.

@flannan Yeah. Dunno if it's cause we only played with more than twenty people, or it wasnt professional dodgeball, or whatever silly reason we decided to dumb it down for. *Shrugs*

Can confirm that that is how it works. I know it, funnily enough, from dodgeball in Mario sports (a Japanese game)

I've played a variation of those rules in the US before when I was still school aged. I don't recall that someone in the outfield/outbox could knock out an opposing player still in the infield/inbox, but you could get someone "out of jail" if you threw the ball to them. But, I think it'd have to be on the fly. So, unlike here, where Tomo bounce-passed it to the outfield, you'd have to get the ball across enemy territory on the fly into the hands of a teammate in the outfield, they'd have to catch it on the fly, and then that teammate would get a free pass to run back across enemy territory (like temporary invincibility after a revive in a video game).
