I can see this slowly turning into something like Working! Where it gradually turns into a relationship, but in an awkward way that feels natural because of the awkwardness. And/or they could get into a shounen like situation where thing get heated up (in an action-y way) and they end up doing that thing where they both punch each other at the same time, and then they decide to date (instead of becoming friends).
