For anyone who's worried about this development and doesn't mind some spoilers (only for the next couple chapters)

She does like someone besides Yamaguchi, and she tries to meet up with him again, but despite this guy saying he'd come he never actually does, leaving her heartbroken. (Yamaguchi is there with her while she's waiting)
She ends up giving up on him and accepting this isn't going to work out after a long talk with Yamaguchi. Yamaguchi also confesses to her after this. This drama doesn't last very long, only a couple chapters, so rest assured.

If this was in the past before smartphones, when many people had dial up internet without webcams I can understand how she'd feel somewhat safe meeting someone without seeing them first because back then people didn't expect PREDATORS until a few stories came out about them shortly after this time window. This just reeks of poor plot device implementation by the author.

Not everyone is comfortable showing their face online. There's tons of people who still subscribe to the "never post any of your personal information online" advice of old instead of plastering every single thing they can think about themselves to the point they can get doxxed with a simple google search.
Satou is a very trusting and innocent person, but more importantly, she's a dumb girl with a crush. Of course she wouldn't consider the real risks of doing something like that. There's tons of kids who still do so even to this day. Haven't you heard those horror stories of Discord servers where they blackmail impressionable kiddies after not-forcing them to take incriminatory pictures of themselves otherwise they won't really be part of the server and what-not? If anything things have gotten way easier for predators and groomers nowadays.
