I don't see any reason for him to apologize. Sure it was harsh, but so is reality, and in cases like this, it is better to have them face said reality than giving support for stupid ideals and false hopes. On the long run, it's a bigger help to get her through this, than giving continuous false hopes. If Sato can't realize it anytime soon, well that's on her.
@rtrtrt In some cases, High Schoolers has similar outfits to this in manga.
yeah idk, a lot of the elements of this story scream "middle school" to me. i haven't seen the raws or read the LN, but this feels like a translator error to me.
@Istvan90623 He obviously feels like he was too harsh with her, so he should apologise for the bluntness of the delivery and hurting her feelings, even if he thought the message was correct. If saying sorry fixes any damage caused to their relationship, it's most certainly worth it. His pride shouldn't be so delicate it can't take it.
Yamaguchi's best option, of course, would be to tell Satou that in reality he said all that because he was jealous and didn't want Satou to talk about loving any other man than him.
@Kaarme It's not about being too prideful to apologize. It's about being right in both message and method, even if it was harsh. Not everyone understands from nice words, and they need a hard delivery.
Same. I think it's a realistic depiction, though, as she may seem overly-genki on the surface, but deep down she has her own foibles and insecurities she's wrestling with. @Dennis
Him being able to assure her she's never a bother feels like progress, to me. Here's hoping he can see it through. Thanks as always for the translations, and the accompanying cultural explanations!
@justforthelulz Been there more than once and will keep happening to us all, now we see this from Yamaguchi's perspective, but surely Satou is passing through the same.
