What's the deal with this series? It's like those two can't live without drinking booze every day.

Anyway, in a serious answer, I think the author just wanted to make treats that go with booze and since the series moved to a more 'adult' magazine the author wanted more 'adult' themes (being an adult = drinking after work). That's just how I thought about it.
