Tonikaku Kawaii - Vol. 16 Ch. 137 - Roar, my stomach is a furnace

I didn't even know Zimbabwe had reintroduced the dollar. It was discontinued a decade ago after a banknote was worth far less than the paper and ink used to create it. Ever since, the country simply relied on foreign currency even for domestic needs. Seems like they finally tried to get back their own money, but unsurprisingly it's just another hyperinflation experiment. I doubt much has been done to fix the ruined economy.

Ah yes, if you don't take your girlfriend to an expensive restaurant and pay for everything you're not a proper man. Welcome to the 20th century everyone.

YES A DEMON SLAYER REFERENCE BABY LETS GOOOOO. I really wanted that ship to have some more moments but hey it was nice at the end, yeah I guess we can now wipe our tears from demon slayer's end and now look forward to the next chapter

As a Norwegian starting to read the chapter and immediately seeing a a yen to Norwegian krone conversion gave me a serious WTF moment. I started to wonder if the translator was Norwegian and included the yen to Norwegian krone conversion as an in-joke or if maybe they had made different translations with different conversions based on the readers IP address but that seemed unlikely. Once I saw the yen to Zimbabwean dollar I understood the joke the translator was making.
The Norwegian krone is not a currency I expect anybody would know about outside the Nordic countries. That said the Norwegian economy is very stable but on the other hand the Zimbabwean economy is a free falling disaster, so maybe the translator found two currencies on the opposite ends of the stability index for the joke.

@Destynova converting to krone has been a meme for a couple years now, at the least. I can't inform you why it became one, only that it is.
