Tonikaku Kawaii - Vol. 5 Ch. 48 - Regarding happiness

Nasa's totally the kind of guy who'd naturally end up being productive without any outside motivation required, and so I'd think that advice works for him well.

"The future me will do something about it"

I'm 36 yo without a job. Following that advice didn't go well.

This is actually horrible advice. o_O You should think about your future, especially when your choices will heavily affect the options available to you throughout your adult life. I can understand that Nasa just got married and that seems like the most important thing to him right now, but in a month or two he'd do well to get back to reality.

Note: this only work for Nasa because he's fully capable of solving a lot of problems, he also made a lot of preparations and fail safe just in case something bad happened in the future.

So unless you are half as capable as him, please don't neglect your future preparation.

I believe that this is more alongside the lines of "Don't focus so much on the future that you miss out on the present".

Many of us give up plenty of chances to do things because we worry about the future and possible occurrences, yet in doing so, we sometimes deprive ourselves of the drive we need to keep ourselves at 100%; Nasa is living in the present, enjoying every single minute he has with his beloved and simply leaving future possibilities as just that, things that may or may not happen in the future.

Not to demean the greatness of preparing ourselves and planning ahead, but let's not focus on it so much we lose the spark of creativity and impulsiveness that makes us ourselves, that make us happy... that makes us human.

After all, if we truly worried about the future as much as we'd like to pretend we do, we wouldn't be otakus and reading mangas in the first place wouldn't we?

Do preparation for the future today then the future of me can enjoying his life

Is this a a message from Hata-sensei to the editor that he wants to take a break and watch Bohemian Rhapsody?

well, Nasa is so damn smart, ofcourse he can do shit in a heartbeat.
normal people should plan and prepare so that they could be happy with less wories in their future.

"I'm sure the future me will do something about it.".....I hope this line won't make kids actually believe in it.

Mhm.... I always evaluate that based on need. AS long as I feel like it won't hurt, I will do only a minimum. And then in the end, I either still hate past me for slacking too much, or glad that everything went the way I planned (or rather, did not at all).

@VladDracul2
I literally gave up my dream, and went for more stable path. Am I happy about it? no. but at least I won't be worried about my future and my household economic stability (No debt, have proper house, and enough food to fill the belly)
ah, no, I'm not married yet actually, but still ... stable income.

@VladDracul2
I agree with you in principle, but the manga does a poor job at presenting this. At the start of the story, we see that Nasa gave up his education and devoted himself to working in the service industry solely because he hoped to meet Tsukasa that way. Now that he found her (or, well, she found him) and they are happily married, I think it's a completely valid point that he should consider revisiting what he gave up on. It's possible that he's not only wasting his talents, but would be more happy doing something that is more suited to him, something that he truly enjoys.
The teacher in this chapter was a good example of someone "focusing too much on the future and forgetting the present". Nasa, however, seems to be focusing too much on the present, and is ignoring the future entirely.

@Straborvsky Good, but you can't let down your guard by impregnate some girl and have to took responsibility for the child. Instant unstable life.
