I don't really understand this aversion to physical contact.
I mean, especially between those two. They are clearly intelligent people, well versed in the west's ways (seeing the number of references to western culture in this manga).
So spending this long married with absolutely no physical contacts is strange to me.

She says she doesn't like being touched, but we don't really know why. Maybe some more back story will shed a light on this, I dunno...

I think I would prefer it if they started actively trying to change themselves to get more touchy with each other. We can clearly see that it's not that they don't want to, but that they are hesitant for whatever reason.
