@Kaarme the joke is obvious. She comes across as an airhead, no a lesbian, of course.

But this "joke" also betrays that the author isn't taking the idea of girls liking girls seriously, which is a letdown somehow.

Like "lol, she's so dumb that she wants a wife". Whereas, for some lesbians, it's a serious matter, not the subject of a joke.

I mean, yes the whole thing on LGBT rights is a serious matter, this manga isn't using to do anything silly and just used the joke to convey the idea of her airheadedness because she was just talking to nasa about his wife, and how over the moon/lovey dovey he is and wants something like that for herself. It's some old fashion rom com fluff.
