@The5thSeraph That's common but not compulsory: for example, the original version of Dracula could sometimes act during the day (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Count_Dracula#Weaknesses), and some Asian vampire types look human during the day and become monstrous at night (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vampire#Asia).
