The father is a really naive person.. my reasoning?? Bcoz he think that he alone can replace an administrator of the largest tower who took control of it without any forces/armies to begin with.. wasn't that enough of an alert that the one who conquer the tower is the real monster??

Simple, but also hard to explain at the same time. there are 2 kinds of ambitious people, opportunistic/follows the truly strong, and people who could never bend. one will do everything they can to climb up while knowing their place, possibly overthrowing if they see a gap and the possibility, the other will never be content under someone else and will constantly be at odds. this one falls into the opportunistic side, and as long as you don't give them a chance to overthrow, they are very useful. keep in mind his plan was never to overthrow, just the thinking if the chance arises, lets do this, and that idea got slapped out of him.

@Baconcat You are remarkably anal about an absolutely trivial hyphenation choice, aren't you? You're not even right to attack them about it, either, as it is extremely standard in newsprint and similar formatting where they are dealing with narrow columns to maintain form and thus easy readability (as there is no issue with where a new line begins by following the column alignment) rather than to break on phoneme boundaries, but you can also find it in many older books as well, such as Frankenstein or The Magician's Nephew. Just because there are formal style guides that say something else doesn't mean that they are the sole standard and everything must match.
@Amariithynar Except this doesn't apply because in both cases there was plenty of space to print the text properly to begin with, and because in both cases shifting the s into the previous line for no reason other than being utterly ignorant and incompetent made the longer one of the two lines even longer still.

And that reason is not – as you might like, so that you can smugly rub it in my face – to bully writers into submission for the sake of bullying, but to provide a collection of conventions that have shown and proven to be beneficial to the reader and as such would be a good idea to adhere to, too, would they not? That's also why dictionaries bother to include such conventions in their documentation:

Now, sure, feel free to ignore those conventions just because you can, but if you expect this to be welcomed unconditionally with open arms, here's an experiment I'd like you to try: Next time you're about to shake someone's hands, announce that you didn't wash after you using the toilet. GLORIOUS. Truly glorious. A thorough beating both physically and psychologically. She showed these two piss ants that from every feasible stand point they are lower than dirt and the next time they try or say some shit towards the MC they will suffer for it.
