that head priestess, is she dumb or is she dumb? Just 1 page back, she mentions how kousuke made contact with the gods and then goes on to threaten him and say "the gods will forgive me". This is just dumb. And ofc they get slapped in the face right after. But it's just poor writing like this.

two things.
1) she didn't know the artifact was only useable by one person
2) she didn't know whose hands were part of making a devine tool
I'm always a bit generous with manga adaptations as things may be left on the table, but I assume that making contact with a god isn't exactly the hardest thing in the world if you have the right methods, and only members of the temple generally want to make contact, or can make contact.
She wants to take the artifact because till then its of unknown origin, but it is in the hands of an outsider and she couldn't bring him into the fold.
Its not really stupid, in fact if it didn't go this way it would have been weird, the the fact she took everything at face value and backed down when cards were shown means shes not dumb.

@alidan he actually tells her that it's only usable by silvia, tho the priest could think it's a lie, but in the end it doesn't matter, as details about the artifact are irrelevant to my point - kousuke talked to the gods, she knows it, she implies it's an achievement, and proceeded to threaten the guy that talks to the gods thinking the gods won't mind. Needing reality to be shoved in her face doesn't show how great her intelligence is either.
But, maybe I'm too harsh on her. She's a leader of a temple with big strong knights around her, scheming, always having things her own way. Maybe she just got too used to the status quo and didn't bother with such details. Surely "the gods wouldn't mind" as always.

Hoes mad. That priest acted like a bitch (because she cannot let go a person who can do divine tools, so she wants to protect that ability from others, quite understable) but the way she was drunk in her bed in the last page was cute.
