The entire point of this story is that it's direly nonsensical to get hung up on the “gender” of a male who looks indistinguishable from a female, and apart from that it's still ambiguous and Kobinata never proved that he's male and many don't believe it.

As an adult it's super ridiculous. They're kids.
Another point: regardless if you confess people need to realize that their feelings might not be reciprocated. It's silly when manga artists write about who confesses first. You can be first in this dumb race but in the end it comes down to the other person. We know that a relationship has been established in the manga we read, several chapters on the two peoples interacting. Go ahead confess. Mock the MC. They're having the last laugh when they turn down your confession

i mean--it looked like at first she was sad that hana wasnt talking to her, since hana was going through her "i dont know what friends are" period after the pool incident, and it also seemed like she wanted hana to pursue something with kobinata (unless im misunderstanding the dialogue in the previous chap where she told the MC to not get in the way..maybe she thought he was getting in the way of their friendship?).
but then this chapter she was basically hooking them up..was she just seeing if hana would actually go through with it? then she looks all sad when hana gets back from the walk..
