I suppose she's also about the age to marry, and this might be one of those time periods/places where a maid would generally retire to transition into housewife mode. Which would basically utilize the same skill set. But yeah, perhaps it's a bit early for it when she doesn't even let Chiru cook the rice herself yet. Just be forcing them to hire another maid before she even had actually found her own future prospects.
