Tsuki to Suppin - Ch. 14

Here in Spain the engagement ring may be worn in either hand depending on the region.

Some people like to be complicated just for the sake of it.

Wholesome like a wholemeal bread bacon sandwich made by your nan to cheer you up after coming in from the cold.

...What is right-hand ring-finger supposed to mean in Japan? If I look up right-handed wedding rings in general I feel like I get a smorgasbord of different implications that could apply...

(I mean, I'm used to approaching it as nothing more complicated than, "a gold band or similar on the ring finger probably means someone is married (or similarly devoted), but not necessarily", which is fairly safe. People breaking it down into complex signalling is completely outside of my life experience, even if I know it's a thing in various cultures/sub-cultures...)

I get the gist of the scene from context, of course, this is just idle curiosity.
