ah so it seems author has retconned their design in webcomic version and gave girl a new name, nothing major but this is good i hope he continues it with more chapters.
looks like author gives same name to his male characters in all of his works. got confused with the other guy having the same name but other doujin makes more sense with design and setting.

It's a mystery why the translations of the girl's name is different in the doujinshi when someone else on reddit reviewed the raw and they read it as "Mei" too. Making it more likely it's the translator's error.
