Make relationship early in the story for hook.

Fill story with random crap from supporting characters

Ocasionally show the main characters being cutesy, while never furthering their romantic relationship

Make the last chapter a kiss scene of the main characters because your editor reminded you this was a "romance" manga and since you did fuck all during the story at least end it romantically.

Just the usual shits get done in last chapter CUZ fuck it

Yeah...I dont mind a bit of schmaltz here and there....Honestly more annoyed with the "Youre ugly and undeserving of a beautiful girl" male mc scenario (wish that cliche would burn a fiery end).To any future manga writer never put this cliche in your story...Its garbage storytelling that belongs in the trash


But on the whole had low expectations and that kept me satisfied for the last few chapters

Shame it ended like that.
It was very well done for a very rushed open ending, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still a rushed very open ending.
A lot of plot lines and relationships without a conclusion, which is a massive shame, since this manga was pretty fucking good.
Hope someone decides to turn this into an anime one day

It's strange but serious Kronix is right quite often and is so in this case. This was a pretty box standard ending. What you're referring to are what I would call the average shitty romance. Not the average romance in general.
